Dr Ho’s clinical expertise includes spinal pain disorders, neuropathic pain syndromes, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), post-surgical pain conditions, occupational and motor vehicle injury-related pain, and persistent disability presentations. His approach integrates pain medicine with functional rehabilitation principles, with particular focus on capacity, impairment, and return-to-work outcomes.

In the medicolegal setting, Dr Ho provides Independent Medical Examinations (IME), permanent impairment assessments, causation opinions, and work capacity evaluations across workers compensation, CTP, personal injury, and common law matters. He is accredited and experienced in the application of the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fifth Edition (AMA 5) and Sixth Edition (AMA 6), applying jurisdiction-specific legislation and guidelines as required.

Dr Ho strictly adheres to the Expert Witness Code of Conduct and provides independent, evidence-based, and unbiased opinions.

In 1999, Dr Thomas completed his Masters in Public Health at Monash University, his thesis was on ‘The Measurement of Outcome after Major Orthopaedic Trauma’.

In 2001, Dr Thomas was granted Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA) Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. This was through a Grandfather Clause, in recognition of his expertise and contribution in the area of pain medicine.

Dr Bala started practicing as a specialist in Rehabilitation medicine in 2004 at The Victorian Rehabilitation Center in Glen Waverley Victoria. Shortly after, he started his practice in the area of Traumatic Brain Injury and Multi trauma Rehabilitation alongside his interest in pain management.
He was a recipient of the Bruce Ford Scholarship through the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2005 for which he went to Uppsala University in Sweden to pursue his pilot project in Brain Injury.

On his return, he worked in the outer metropolitan suburbs in the areas of need and has worked across Melbourne Metro in public and private hospitals. Dr Bala has now consolidated his practice in public and private in the district of Illawarra and Sholhaven in Wollongong NSW Australia.

Dr Matthew Tuminello

Dr Matthew Tuminello

Dr Tuminello maintains a diverse practice across both public and private sectors. He consults privately at Masada Private Hospital, where he specialises in the management of spasticity and disability, including Botulinum toxin injections and intrathecal baclofen pump therapy. He also holds Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) appointments at Epworth, Masada, and Cabrini Hospitals.

In the public sector, Dr Tuminello holds a position at Alfred Health, where he provides specialist care within the Neurological and Burns Rehabilitation Unit. His clinical interests include spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke rehabilitation, and the rehabilitation of complex multi-trauma patients.

He is actively involved in research, including projects on upper limb rehabilitation in the early post-stroke period and the impact of rehabilitation on health-related quality of life following multi-trauma.

Dr Tuminello has also undertaken independent medicolegal work since 2023.
