Dr Boris Strekozov was educated at the University of Sarajevo, where he obtained his M.B.B.S. in January 1980 and his Fellowship in General Surgery in 1988. He was working at the University Medical Centre Sarajevo, Institute for Organ Transplantation as a General and Transplant Surgeon and Director of the Institute from 1987-1993. He received his Masters Degree at the same University in 1991.

Originally a graduate of Melbourne University, Nancy was awarded the fellowship of Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2006. She undertook further training at Oxford Transplant centre in the UK.
