Dr Melissa Hughes

Dr Hughes has worked internationally and interstate in clinical roles in non-government, health, and forensic mental health settings, as well as academic research positions. Her training and experience allows her to combine clinical and forensic expertise to provide comprehensive assessments and expert reports that address clinical and forensic issues. She has extensive experience assessing clients with a wide range of conditions including acquired brain injuries, substance use disorders, neurological conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, mental health disorders including personality disorders, and complex interactions of these conditions. She has particular interest and expertise in brain injury, capacity assessments, individuals with complex presentations and forensic assessment. Dr Hughes regularly provides independent expert reports for a variety of courts and tribunals. She has extensive experience in both criminal and civil matters.

Dr Hughes is currently based in Sydney, NSW, where she provides regular availability to conduct MedicoLegal Assessments both in-person and online via our tele-health platform, Kawaconn video. Dr Linda Thomas

Dr Linda Thomas

She is a trained assessor in Permanent Impairment for Motor Accidents Authority, Workcover and Comcare. She has been a medico-legal assessor since 2003 and consults on Fitness for Duty assessments, Personal Injury and damages claims for selected legal cases, life insurance and defendant insurance company referrals.

Dr Thomas has both clinical competence and academic skills training in psychometric testing. She has interviewed, administered, interpreted and reported on a number of tests in a variety of contexts including occupational, clinical and forensic settings. Her expertise incorporates tests of aptitude, cognition, executive functioning and personality as well as work safety, malingering, emotional intelligence and skills-based assessments and includes NEO, MMPI, WAIS, WISC amongst many others.

Dr Thomas has over 30 years of clinical experience in public hospital and community facilities, private practice and occupational and academic arenas. She has provided assessment and management of children and adults with a wide range of psychiatric and psychological conditions, including psychotic disorders, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, PTSD, depressive disorders and anxiety. She has clinical experience in brain injury related to acquired and degenerative disorders and their cognitive and neuropsychological assessment.

Dr Jennifer Harasty

Dr. Jennifer Harasty is an awarded speech neuroscientist, granted as being “one of the top 2000 living scientists of the 21st century” by Cambridge Bibliographical society. She is a University Academic, Cognitive Neuroscientist, Communication Sciences and Disorders Specialist and Speech Language Pathologist in clinical practice since 1996 specialising in the primary and high school age population. She has been a Chair of the Eastern Sydney Allied Health Network of the Eastern Suburbs Medicare Local and has been an inaugural director of the wider Central and Eastern Sydney Allied Health Network which represents over 5000 allied health professionals through the Federal Australian Governments Primary Health Network (PHN of Sydney).

She is committed to providing services to disadvantaged groups. Her practice supports many vulnerable and CALD families and supports UNHC for Refugees for over 10 years. She is interested in innovative service provision and research into health services across all aspects of the health system such as neurobehavioural therapy, NDIS, allied health private services, hospital and community health sectors: all of which she has provided services to. She has been the first National Advisor Evidenced Based Practice for Australia and effected great change in this role. She has worked clinically with specific literacy disorders for over 30 years including many recent primary school students to great effect.

Dr Lawson has extensive experience in helping children with brain disorders. The major interest and world-standard expertise is in all aspects of the diagnosis and management of young people with EPILEPSY.
