In 1989 Dr O’Sullivan graduated from Sydney University. He was on rotation from Royal Newcastle Hospital where he completed his Orthopaedic training in 1996.

In 1997 Dr O’Sullivan then completed his Fellowship year in Dublin in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Foot and Ankle Surgery. He was a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, on call for trauma, for 10 years up until 2008 and he continues to further his knowledge in his field of interest with attendance and participation at conferences both here and overseas.

Dr David Shooter

Dr David Shooter

Dr David Shooter graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999. He has broad experience in Queensland health care, working in Townsville, Redcliffe, Brisbane and the Gold Coast before completing his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery (2009) at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Royal Children Hospitals and QEII Jubilee Hospital. This included 18 months of orthopaedic oncology rotations at the Princess Alexandra Hospital; extensive training in orthopaedic trauma (upper and lower limb) at the PAH and RBWH hospitals, both major trauma centres; and primary and revision arthroplasty training at QEII Hospital, designated an Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence for Arthroplasty by Queensland Health. After working as a staff consultant at QEII Jubilee Hospital (2010-2011), including eleven months as Director of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr Shooter then moved to the UK for twelve months to do an Orthopaedic Oncology Fellowship, working at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London. He worked exclusively in the Bone Tumour and Joint Reconstruction Unit, gaining unique experience and expertise in the evaluation and surgical management of bone and soft tissue sarcomas, both adult and paediatric. This included experience with “non-invasive growing” and “joint preservation” technology for paediatric and young adult tumour reconstruction. Dr Shooter also trained extensively in revision arthroplasty cartilage transplantation and other surgical management of arthritis.

Dr Greg Sterling obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1995. He completed Advanced Training in Orthopaedic Surgery, receiving his Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (F.R.A.C.S) Fellowship in 2005. He was born in Longreach in Central Queensland and educated at Marist College Ashgrove in Brisbane. Dr Greg Sterling went on to undertake an extensive period of further education.

Dr William Edwards

Dr William Edwards

After studying medicine at Melbourne University through the RMH, Dr Edwards went on to achieve a Research Degree in Molecular Biology and taught Anatomy at both Melbourne and Stanford Universities.

Dr Edwards’ Initial Orthopaedic training was through the Victorian program and he went on to complete fellowships in Foot and Ankle surgery in Oxford, Baltimore and Atlanta. Dr Edwards now has a dedicated foot and ankle practice in Richmond, performing sports trauma and reconstructive surgery.

Dr Janan Chandrananth

Dr Janan Chandrananth

Dr Janan Chandrananth completed his undergraduate medical training at The University of Melbourne in 2012. He went on to complete his orthopaedic fellowship training across multiple New South Wales and Canberra institutions, also including a rotation in the USA at the Shriners Hospital for Children, and was awarded his fellowship in 2021.

Dr Janan Chandrananth continually contributes to the medical industry through research, publications and industry events. He additionally holds multiple teaching and mentor roles for medical students and junior doctors. He is part of The University of Melbourne’s MDHS Mentorship program for medical students and aspiring young doctors.

Outside of work, Dr Chandrananth has trained in martial arts, being awarded the Bushido cross and black belt second dan in Karate.

Dr Janan Chandrananth is available for appointments in relation to independent medical examinations, workplace injuries, transport accidents, public liability matters and total permanent disability. He is available for complex case discussion, file review and telemedicine assessments.
