Dr Jithoo holds a statutory appointments with the Victorian WorkCover panel as well as the Veterans review board and is an Advisor to the federal health minister. He is an adjunct research fellow with Monash university. He has previously been elected by his peers as secretary to the Neurosurgery board of Australasia.
He has been past acting head of department of the Alfred Hospital department of Neurosurgery and is currently an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons final part Neurosurgery exams.

Dr Michael Ow-Yang is a Consultant Neurosurgeon whose particular areas of interest include acute and chronic pain management for spinal disorders including upper and lower limb neuropathic pain and mechanical neck and low back pain, treatment for cervical and lumbar disc disorders, minimally invasive treatment of degenerative spinal disorders including steroid injection treatment and radiofrequency denervation procedures, cervical disc replacement surgery, spinal instrumentation for spinal fusion surgery, neuromodulation for chronic neuropathic pain problems, treatment for spine tumours and fractures and neurosurgical treatment for brain tumours.
