Dr Benjamin Trewin

In addition to his work in multiple sclerosis and related autoimmune disorders, Dr Trewin has extensive experience in the assessment and management of migraine, post-concussion syndrome, and other neurological sequelae of injury.

He is a SIRA-accredited WorkCover Permanent Impairment Assessor and a Motor Accident Guidelines Authorised Health Practitioner in the fields of Nervous System and Spine, and has been appointed as a Medical Assessor to the Personal Injury Commission. His medicolegal practice covers both complex neurological diagnoses and impairment assessment across a broad range of conditions.

Dr Jo Offord

Dr Jo Offord

In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Offord is a dedicated advocate for patient safety. She is a member of the district Transition Care Steering Committee for SESLHD and SCHN and serves as a Clinical Expert on the Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) Clinical Expert Panel. She has presented her research and initiatives to the CEC Research Advisory Committee (2019) and the CEC Patient Safety Managers Forum (2022). Furthermore, she has been awarded a scholarship in Patient Safety for her contributions to Critical Thinking and Cognitive Bias.

Prof Christian Gericke

Prof Christian Gericke

After graduating from medical school in Berlin, he trained in neurology at the Charité, followed by epilepsy fellowships in Strasbourg and Geneva. He holds two research doctorates in cognitive neurology and health systems research, as well as master’s degrees from the Universities of Cambridge and London. Currently, he reads health and medical law at Melbourne Law School.

He has served as an Independent Medical Expert for the Supreme Courts in all Australian jurisdictions and the High Court (King’s Bench) in England. He has experience providing evidence in civil, criminal, and coronial court proceedings.

He chairs the Australia and New Zealand Association of Neurologists’ Therapeutics Committee and the American Academy of Neurology’s Neuroepidemiology Section. He also serves on the International League Against Epilepsy’s Standards and Best Practice Council.
