His specialty training in Brisbane and Melbourne, his exposure to several sports, and his differing management approaches have honed his skills and knowledge. Dr Hislop manages medical problems and injuries affecting all body parts but specialises in exertional leg pain. He has published research on Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome and is one of the few practitioners in South East Queensland who performs compartment pressure studies. He deals with diagnosis, injury management and rehabilitation, exercise-related medical issues management, sports psychology, sports nutrition and performance enhancement, and surgical advice and treatment. He is involved in research in the management of Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome. Dr Hislop has co-authored a number of chapters in the Sports Medicine equivalent of the ‘Bible’, Brukner and Kahn’s Clinical Sports Medicine. Dr Hislop will perform PRP injections on appropriate patients and is skilled in intra-articular cortisone injections.
