Professor Gatenby has 40 years experience in allergic and autoimmune diseases. His particular interests have been in non-infectious inflammatory diseases such as SLE, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis. He has also taught general medicine to medical students and has an interest and many years of experience in medical ethics.
