Mr Antonis Nicolaou

Mr Antonis Nicolaou is a Physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, having worked predominantly within the private practice, sports, musculoskeletal and occupational physiotherapy sectors during his career. He has extensive expertise in the conservative management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal and sporting conditions and obtained his APA Sports & Exercise and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy titles in 2013. He currently works at three private practices and a medical centre in south-eastern Melbourne.

Mr Nicolaou initially completed a Science degree at Monash University in 1998, graduating with a first-class honours degree from the department of Anatomy. He went on to complete an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in 2004. He completed a Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy in 2010 and subsequently a double Masters in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in 2012. An interest in the legal and Medicolegal fields led him to return to study a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) degree at Monash University in 2020 which he is due to complete at the end of 2024.

Antonis has had extensive involvement managing compensable patients and is currently a provider in the TAC & WorkSafe Early Intervention Physiotherapy program. He has also been involved in medicolegal consulting and provision of expert opinions for a number of years, most recently as a consultant with the medicolegal firm eReports. He has also had extensive experience working in occupational settings.

Antonis is also an accomplished Sports Physiotherapist, having worked at multiple sporting events and with multiple sporting teams in the past. Teams he has worked with in the past include Melbourne Heart Football Club, the Victorian Weightlifting Association, Bentleigh Greens Soccer Club and Clayton Football Club. He has also been a Physiotherapist at the Arafura Games, Oceania Para-Olympic Championships, Weightlifting Federation National Championships and Olympic Trials, Australian Corporate Games, Oxfam Trailwalker, Run for the Willows Athletics Carnival and BP Ultimate/BRW Corporate Triathlon.
