Dr Vanessa Perotti is an Australian-trained neurosurgeon with expertise in the treatment of brain, spine, and peripheral nerve conditions.
A graduate of the University of Sydney, Dr Perotti completed her neurosurgical training at St Vincent’s, St George, Westmead, and Liverpool Hospitals, with additional training in New Zealand, the United States, and Germany. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2017 and subsequently undertook advanced training in neurotrauma, rural and remote surgery, and spinal surgery.
Her clinical interests include neck and back pain, sciatica, peripheral nerve disorders, degenerative spine disease, brain and spinal tumours, neurovascular conditions such as aneurysms, and brain and spinal injuries, including concussion management. She works closely with physiotherapists, pain specialists, and rehabilitation providers to deliver evidence-based, multidisciplinary care, with a particular focus on injured workers.
Dr Perotti is also actively involved in teaching, research, and medical law. She holds a Master of Health Law from the University of Sydney and has contributed to research in healthcare quality and safety. She is a Senior Clinical Lecturer, serves on hospital bioethics and clinical committees, and regularly works as a staff specialist neurosurgeon at Townsville University Hospital.
