Dr. Jo Offord holds a Bachelor of Neuroscience with First-Class Honours from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney. She completed her postgraduate training in Neurology at St George and Prince of Wales Hospitals. Additionally, she has conducted neuroscience research in both New York and London and has undertaken fellowships in Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at Prince of Wales Hospital.nnDr. Offord currently practices as a Neurologist at Prince of Wales Hospital, the Aboriginal Community Health Service in La Perouse, and in private practice. Her clinical interests include general neurology, peripheral nerve and neuromuscular disorders, headache, and epilepsy. She is one of three neuromuscular specialists leading the Neuromuscular and Neurogenetic Clinic at Prince of Wales Hospital and serves as the lead neurologist in the hospitalu2019s Amyloidosis Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Offord is a dedicated advocate for patient safety. She is a member of the district Transition Care Steering Committee for SESLHD and SCHN and serves as a Clinical Expert on the Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) Clinical Expert Panel. She has presented her research and initiatives to the CEC Research Advisory Committee (2019) and the CEC Patient Safety Managers Forum (2022). Furthermore, she has been awarded a scholarship in Patient Safety for her contributions to Critical Thinking and Cognitive Bias.
