Associate Professor Shatwell is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who has wide interests in Orthopaedics including hip and knee replacement surgery as well as hand, foot and ankle problems. His qualifications include MBBS, FRACS and FAOrthA.

Further orthopaedic experience includes 5 years working as a Lecturer in Orthopaedics at Liverpool University with clinical duties at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Halton General Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. A/Prof Shatwell also worked as Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Wanganui Hospital for 15 years.
