Dr Lara Wetton is an Australian trained medical practitioner, who has spent the last two decades refining her skills and gaining experience in aesthetic surgery and medicine. Dr Wetton completed her medical degree from Adelaide University. After spending time in the plastic and reconstructive surgery departments of multiple public hospitals, both in Adelaide and Sydney, she decided to follow her passion and enter the world of aesthetics. She completed the advanced fellowship in cosmetic surgery, with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine, and has been fortunate to work with world renowned surgeons, both in Australia and overseas.
Her special interests lie in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body. She works in private practice in Double Bay, Sydney, where she offers a wide range of surgical aesthetic procedures, including facelifts, eyelid surgery, breast augmentation and liposuction, to name a few. As well as surgery, she provides aesthetic medical treatments, such as injectables, lasers, and chemical peels. She operates at a number of private hospitals throughout Sydney. She is a vocal advocate for patient safety and sits on the Council of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (ACCSM). Dr Wetton at various times has served as the ACCSM Registrar representative of the Australian Breast Device Registry, has been the scientific convenor for the surgical stream of COSMETEX Conference, member of the Expert Working Group for the ACCSM Curriculum accreditation, and the Convenor of monthly Journal Club for the ACCSM. Academically, Dr Wetton is on the board of reviewers of an international peer review surgical journal in aesthetic surgery. She is the primary author of multiple scientific papers published in international surgery journals and has presented her findings in multiple scientific conferences over the years.
Dr Wetton continues to maintain her technical and academic edge by active participation in professional development through local and international courses and conferences, and her active involvement in the teaching of the young generation of surgical fellows as a training preceptor for ACCSM.
