Dr Erwin Groeneveld graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School and completed ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital. He currently works in his Private Practice after serving as a senior visiting consultant, advanced training supervisor and director of ophthalmology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
His main interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of surgical and medical diseases of the retina and vitreous including retinal detachment, age related macular degeneration, vision threatening diabetic retinopathy, vitreous opacity, macular hole, glaucoma and cataract disease.
He has served as an officer in the Australian Army Reserve, as an AusAID surgeon in the Pacific and on the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologist’s State Executive. He was a founding member and Director of the Queensland Eye Hospital, a Director of the Queensland Eye Institute and serves on the Peninsula Private Hospital Medical Advisory Committee.
